Brush and Fire clearance :
It has come to our attention that there may be several residential properties on Malibu Road that are not yet in compliance with 2025 County of Los Angeles Fire clearance requirements.
City of Los Angeles Fire Department Annual Defensible Space Clearance Notices 2025 were mailed earlier this spring with details on clearance requirements for the June 1, 2025 deadline.
Clearance requirements and related may be found at : www.fire.lacounty.gov, Malibucity.org / menu / services/ fire services, or google “Fire clearance requirements for property owners City of Malibu”. Check your listings for fire clearance services.
Fire safety and brush clearance on Malibu Road is a shared responsibility of all residents / owners. We are all very anxious to support and maintain 100% fire clearance compliance due to the recent wildfires. Please review your fire safety plan.
Non compliance can result in forced clearance by a contractor (costs paid by property owner), administrative fines including property liens, and increased insurance premiums.
